ADMISSIONS



To be admitted into the MTI program, a student must be at least 23 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED certificate, except for special situations. Official copies of a student's high school transcript or the GED certificate, as well as transcripts from all colleges or universities attended must be sent directly to the OBU registrar immediately after enrollment. If seeking a degree, a limited number of credit hours may be transferred from other accredited colleges or universities if they meet OBU requirements, and are not part of another completed degree. No more than 16 hours from the seminary extension department college-level program or similar accredited correspondence may be transferred to the diploma and associate of arts degree. A maximum of 28 hours may be transferred to the Bachelor of Arts degree. Variations in these policies must be approved in writing by the Dean of the School of Christian Service at OBU.


FINANCIAL AID

Meridian University provides for all pastors, licensed ministers, and church staff members a scholarship equal to 15% of a student’s tuition. A copy of an ordination certificate, a ministerial license, or other proof of ministry at a church is required. A small scholarship is additionally provided for all students who are members of a Southern Baptist Church in the Tulsa Metro Baptist Association. At the time of enrollment, the scholarship amount will be posted on the student’s enrollment sheet and will be processed by Oklahoma Baptist University that manages the trust. Other scholarships are available for students who are members of an ethnic church such as an African American hurch, an Hispanic church, a Native American church, or other ethnic language church in the Southern Baptist Convention. Applications are to be filled out and after submission they will be reviewed by a scholarship committee.� Oklahoma Baptist University provides a scholarship for members of cooperating Oklahoma Southern Baptist Churches who are ordained, licensed, or who have notified their churches that they have accepted God's call into vocational Christian ministry. To receive this scholarship, students must have a copy of their license or ordination certificate on file in the MTI Office. Students who are not licensed nor ordained must have their church send a letter certifying that they have made public their acceptance of God's call into vocational Christian ministry to the MTI Office.

COST

Tuition is $99 a credit hour which is considerably less than tuition on campus. Books and materials are not included in the price of tuition. Books may be purchased through Meridian or from any other book supplier. All fees must be paid at the local MTI center at the time of enrollment. There is a $25 enrollment fee each semester.
