OUR Beliefs
The eternal existence of God as One in three Persons; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The whole Bible to be verbally inspired in its original writings and is God’s infallible revelation to man.
Jesus Christ as the God-Man who came to dwell on earth in human flesh through the miracle of the virgin birth.
The sufficient and atoning blood of Christ, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to heaven, and His future personal return to establish His visible kingdom on earth.
Salvation by faith in Christ alone, not through additional effort, but by His grace as demonstrated by His sacrificial substitutionary death on the Cross.
The need of good works primarily to express the believer’s gratitude for God’s grace and to provide a living demonstration of God’s transforming power as evidenced by a life of faith and holiness.
The universal Body of Christ, consisting of all believers, without regard for race or social status, and the local representation of His Church, a local body of believers who meet regularly for worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
Our Lord’s command to make disciples in all nations, to baptize them, and to teach them all things that Christ taught.
The imminent rapture of the Church to precede seven years of Tribulation after which Christ will establish His visible kingdom on earth.

OUR HISTORY
The Ministry Training Institute was first established by Oklahoma Baptist University in 1983 to offer adults an opportunity to equip themselves for service in their local churches. It is estimated that 50% of pastors in Oklahoma do not have a college degree. MTI offers bi-vocational pastors, staff members, and laity, accredited training. It is noteworthy that 80% of MTI’s students are men and 20% are women. Of those who enroll, 70% of all students are degree seeking. Ages of students have ranged from 16 to 82. Qualifying high school students may apply for admission. Of those enrolled, 22% are ordained pastors, 25% are licensed ministers, 14% are church staff members, and 40% are classified as laity.
In 2006, Meridian University of Biblical Training and Oklahoma Baptist University developed a partnership in an effort to provide quality training for adults who may find it difficult to return to school full-time but are willing to pay the price to equip themselves for ministry.
Although Meridian University of Biblical Training is promoting and establishing MTI centers and classes, all course offerings and faculty are approved by Oklahoma Baptist University.
